Dead Guitars is a collaboration of Peter Brough (12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING) and
Carlo van Putten (THE CONVENT, WHITE ROSE TRANSMISSION).
The two came in contact through a mutual friend. At the time Carlo was the
singer in THE CONVENT. Amongst other projects he had recorded albums with ADRIAN
BORLAND (THE SOUND), MARTY PIPER WILSON (THE CHURCH) and MARK BURGES (THE CHAMELEONS).
They were certain they could take this venture a step further with additional
musicians to expand the range of instruments and song writing. Enter Kurt Schmidt
and Ralf Aussem, long time friends, partners in crime and fellow musicians
from the days of the TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING. Ralf, founder of the band SUN
and part of many other great projects like BELGIUM, NINA HAGEN and RAINBIRDS
to mention but a few.
Personal maturity and past experience helped a lot. The melodies are catchy
and at the same time fantastically egocentric. The songs criticise society,
they are packed with anger and angst but some of them also deal with relationships.
Their first bands have been solid underground. But now it's time to leave experimental
paths and meet where the DEAD GUITARS discharge.
They have finally finalized their debut album, 'AIRPLANES'.
The release date is 1st June 2007 upon which they will start their German Tour.
