Masters of synth pop, Wolfsheim's third release cannot fail to please any fan of the genre. Smooth and sexy, Wolfsheim's mix of bittersweet electronic harmonies and intense vocal style pave the way for lyrics which serve more than the melody. If you haven't heard about them yet, it's understandable. Most of Wolfsheim fans got to know this band from word-of-mouth around the synthpop/electronic community. Wolfsheim mixes blends of brilliant synth-pop with an electro edge. From the first track, 'It's Hurting for the First Time' to the entrancingly beautiful 'E', Spectators is 500% aural pleasure. Tracks like 'I Don't Love You Anymore' and 'Read the Lines', have a Smith's-type quality, where upbeat music contrasts with sad lyrics. This is definitely an album that fans of Human Drama, Escape With Romeo & Clan Of Xymox will immensely enjoy. Outstanding vocals, melodies, and rhythms combine to produce a standout package that deserves more exposure.
