Escape With Romeo are not gothic, but a great wave
band nonetheless. The music scene in Germany has evolved
into somthing quite fantastic over the last few years, and there are hundreds
of really good bands around. Some of these really deserve a much wider audience.
Escape With Romeo is one of them and their music has
been described as "atmospheric
compositions made of clear soundstructures, mixing modern electronic elements
with guitar feedback,
not
to
mention the expressive voice of Thomas Elbern. Spiritual zeitgeist
music, partly catchy, partly acoustic and hypnotically dark." Since their
foundation in 1989 Escape With Romeo belong to the most well known representatives
of the German wave-pop-genre.
