2003 remastered reissue of Felt's 1982 debut album in limited edition
digi-pack. The album was a critical and indie chart success, and
has been long sought after in its original format. This is the beginning of
a major Felt re-issue campaign with all ten studio albums being released over
the coming months, including the long deleted but much sought after Creation
albums. "Crumbling The
Antiseptic Beauty" was
Felt's very first album and gives a clear indication of the style which
saw them
lead
the
independent
charts throughout the 80's. On "Crumbling The Antiseptic Beauty" there
is a stripped-down psychedelic feel to certain tracks, with drums pounding
out a tribalistic, rolling beat beneath
Deebank
's complex guitar runs and Hayward 's obtuse vocals. Later in their career
Felt would finally curb all that minimalist atmosphere into three-minute pop
gems
while maintaining their skewed, unconventional palette.
