Digitally remastered reissue of For Against's December is
issued in a six-panel digipak and
includes
two rare,
recently
recovered videos shot in 1987, never before commercially available. For
Against released a series of brooding pop records in the late 80's layered
with surging wall of sound guitars and melodic basslines since their inception
in
1984 in
Lincoln, Nebraska. For Against resurfaced in 2002 with the release of
their sixth album, the acclaimed Coalesced.
The band reformed in August 2004 with original guitarist Harry Dingman, at
which time Echelons, the band's debut from 1987, was re-released by Words
On Music for the first time on CD. In 1988 For Against recorded the distinguished
December album for Independent Project Records. December is a fan favorite
and is unparalleled in the annals
of post-punk for its unique blend of atmospheric, and melodic songwriting.
In addition to recalling the early Factory Records sound, the album is also
now largely considered to be a forerunner of the dream pop scene popularized
in England just a few years later (Pale Saints, Kitchens of Distinction). Not
to be missed, December is the rare album that doubles as both a post-punk and
a dream pop masterpiece!
