2005 digitally remastered limited edition 2-CD compilation of NDW classic
tracks. Between 1984 and 1994, Not Drowning, Waving was responsible for some
truly adventurous, boundary-breaking contemporary music. Theirs was an unclassifiable
sound that seamlessly merged worldbeat, ambient influences and neo-classical
elements with rock and pop. Although the band is no more, its legacy continues
in the solo works of David Bridie, and the more acoustically based My Friend
the Chocolate Cake. Presenting the long-awaited double CD best of retrospective "Through
The One Last Door." There
are two discs here. One is full of tremendous instrumentals. The other is full
of tremendous instrumentals too, but they have words and what you'd call singing.
If you're reminding yourself of a band you used to love, settle back and enjoy
the re-discovery. If you've never before been to the places Not Drowning, Waving
went, then there's quite a journey in front of you.
