The House Of Love, one of the greatest post-Smiths British guitar groups, formed in 1986 featuring Guy Chadwick (vocals, guitar), Terry Bickers (guitar), Andrea Heukamp (guitar), Pete Evans (drums), and Chris Groothuizen (bass). Signing to Creation Records, they released two singles 'Shine On' and 'Real Animal', before releasing their untitled 1988 debut album (all of their first LP releases were called 'The House Of Love'). The following year the band moved over to Phonogram and released the band's second album (also called 'The House Of Love') in 1990, followed by the hit re-recording of 'Shine On'. They released 2 more albums before disbanding in 1994, but in 2005 Chadwick, Bickers and Evans reunited for the 'Days Run Away' album. This re-issue faithfully recreates that legendary first Creation Records album, including the single 'Christine'. Long out of print, the re-issue is lavishly packaged in a card gatefold sleeve featuring the definitive original artwork plus extensive new sleeve notes from Guy Chadwick and Alan McGee.
